BIOGRAPHY

M.M. in Music production and jazz performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, guitarist Dyron Batey has been steadily building his name as a compelling performer and inspiring teacher. After graduating in 1999 with a BA in Music Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, Dyron has spent the majority of his career teaching out of the Edmond Music studio. Playing and teaching music is a passion of his and he feels fortunate that he has had the opportunity to help people of all ages learn more about music everyday.

 

Dyron has experience playing in diverse musical situations. He has performed extensively with big bands, jazz combos, blues bands, cover bands, contemporary worship bands, as well as solo jazz guitar and solo finger-style guitar. Dyron also has played bass guitar for cover bands, been a ukulele accompanist, sang for private parties and weddings, and played banjo in a dixie land group. 

 

Most recently Dyron returned to UCO and completed a masters degree in music production and jazz performance. Completing a masters degree helped Dyron learn more about sound engineering, composing and arranging, as well as deepened his knowledge of tonal harmony and musicianship. Dyron is excited to use these new skills for future endeavors. He is looking forward to playing and teaching music for years to come.
